my 2010

welcome 2010. i look forward to see what you hold. i am excited for ways in which i will grow.

starting in 2010, i am going to blog more. even tho i may not have readers, it feels good just to get it out...so, for those of you who read my ramblings, enjoy. it is pure ashley.

on this delightful last evening of 2009, i have spent it with my wonderful sister, my awesome bro n law, and my precious niece. Amber and i planned to make an incredibly yummy dinner which consisted of wings, and roasted veggies...and was YUMMY!!!!! after dinner we enjoyed an AMAZING cup of coffee and then played for a bit with Bailey for a bit. after bales went to bed Amber and i creatively designed our list of things for 2010. let's just say...we had a BLAST!!! it was fun to get our creative side on!!! another thing that made it perfect was that we were listening to an acc team win the chick fil a bowl! yay!

i hope that you all had a wonderful time ringin in the new year!!!

happy new year!!!!!

Changes

Change- I have had a lot of that lately...and I love every bit of it!
As I look ahead to 2010, I am excited to see what it will hold! Tonight, my sister and I are going to write out our goals/ intentions for the year. Things that we want to accomplish and things that we look forward to. 2009 was a good year, but I know that 2010 is going to be GREAT! I look forward to all the adventures and opportunities that 2010 will hold!
I love this quote:
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised that it'd be worth it."
So, with that, I know that 2010 is going to be awesome...some things may not be easy, but in the end, they will be worth it!
Looking forward to sharing my 2010!

Hair

So, today, I will do something that I have never done before. I am going to get low lites in my hair. I am nervous yet excited. Nervous because I have always been a plain blonde, but I think I am more excited because I keep texting Natalie to move up the time...and I am getting impatient. :)

Itchy

Just a few more days till we will ring in the new year! As 2010 creeps up on us, I am diligently thinking about what things I want to accomplish and set in motion for 2010...

Onto the itchy...so, on Saturday night I noticed my arm itching a little bit...I figured it was the bracelet I was wearing since I am allergic to certain kinds of jewelry. Well, I got up on Sunday and I had itchy and bumps on one arm...that night it was over both arms...mom said it is hives and so I have been racking my brain to figure out what could be causing this. I am using a new bodywash, but it is an organic bodywash...so not sure if it's that. I got detergent, but it is the same stuff I usually use, just a new jug. I am using a new lotion, but again, it is organic. I have used these things for the past couple of weeks too. The reason I am blogging about the itchiness is because at 3:30 this morning I woke up to my arms, and legs itching like crazy. I decided to go to the store to get some benedryl or cortizone...I hope into my car, drive to the store...at 3:30 AM...and the store is closed. So it is now 5:30 and I have had a shower, drank my coffee, made breakfast, and am now just sitting on the couch watching a recorded Hallmark movie.

My alarm just went off...time to get up for work :)

I took my Christmas decorations down last night. It took about 20 minutes to deornamentize the tree, put take the tree apart and then put all the trimmings in the box. Until next year...

Well, I am going to sit and enjoy my last hour before I head off to work

And finally...a new post!

So, a lot has been happening since I last blogged. I have completed a semester of online classes...yay!!! I am so thankful that I am able to take classes, work, and do many other things! I love having deadlines! It is a good push for me!! Work is going dandy! I am getting the hang of all the payroll stuff...yes, there have been some mishaps, but I am looking at them as learning experiences so that I do not do it again...thankfully, they are only minor mishaps! :)
This may sound kind of corny, but as I was watching the movie Evan Almighty the other night, God(played by Morgan Freeman) really spoke to me. No, Morgan Freeman was not the one who spoke to me, it was the Lord thru Morgan...hah. Okay...so he makes the comment to Evan's wife that you may pray and ask God for courage, but He is just not going to give you courage, He is going to put you in a position where you need to be courageous...or, you may ask God for patience, but He is not going to give you patience, He is going to put you in a position where you need to have patience...WOW! Right after he said that I knew it was really the Lord saying, "Hello, Ashley...you need to be courageous...I put this in front of you, but you have to work for it...I am not just going to give it to you." Okay, I got the point...I am being courageous and having patience...working on both, but doing pretty well!!! Was that corny enough for ya?!? Hah!
My sister has really gotten me into big earrings...I LOVE them! I need to go find some good deals so that I can have more!!
The most amazing thing that I have discovered is coffee by Archer Farms. They only sell it at Target...Amber and I were on a coffee run when I discovered Coconut Macaroon, Buttery Carmel, and Chocolate Peppermint coffees....YUM!!!!! Another favorite is Peppermint by Millstone! Let's just say that a cup of one of those with a spritz of ready whip on top is AHHHMAZING!!!! And since I have been eating Low Carb to shed some lbs, coffee and ready whip is a great dessert for me!!!!
Unfortunately, we did not get any snow. We were tempted with some BIG snow flakes and some ice, but other than that, Raleigh got NOTHING!!! My Granny called to rub in her 5 inches!!! No fair!
I am sooo excited that it is almost Christmas!!! This will most likely be a slow work week...only 3 days and then off for Christmas Eve and Day!!! YAY!!! I am looking forward to our family all spending the night at my parents on Christmas Eve and wearing Christmasy pj's and making gingerbread houses!! It is going to be sooo much fun with all the kids...when I say kids, I mean Will, Lilly, Ava, Bailey, Ashley, and Adam...haha. Yes, Adam and I are still kids!! lol
Well I am heading out the door to church...until next time...who knows how long that will be. Peace!

JoYfuLLy hAPpY!

I am so happy! That stated, let me fill you in on what's been happening...
On September 18th, I moved outta my parents house and into my first apartment...the last time I moved out was for the 5 weeks that I was at LU, but that doesn't really count...so, I have moved out and it has been so exciting! Thanks to my awesome older brother and my favorite brother in law who did all the heavy lifting up 3 flights of stairs! After I loaded my car, Amber's car, and put the matress in Daniel's truck, we headed off the 14100 Renaissance Lane #305! Amber and our amazing helper...Bailey...got to work unloading dishes and kitchen stuff while Daniel and I carried things up the 3 flights...he was a trooper. A couple hours later, Bobby hopped in the furniture loaded Majestic box truck (thanks Brad Capps for picking up all the furniture) and headed my way. The boys quickly unloaded everything and then we were ready to put stuff together and SHOP! Amber and I covered ALOT of ground that day and the next. Bobby hung pictures and curtain rods...I still have more to hang (Bobby, that was your hint to get over here and help me finish...lol) I still need to get deck furniture and finish up the 2nd bed room...I was going to make it into a guest bedroom, but I have changed my mind and want to put a futon instead of a bed. I want cubby bookshelves with baskets and a table...kind of like a craft room, but not...I don't really know what to call it!
I have done ALOT of cooking. I say ALOT because I have never really cooked...yes, I can cook, but I just never really needed to...or wanted to...it has been soooo much fun!
Other things other than moving out...
I am not working in human resources at work...I did this 5 years ago when I started full time at Majestic, but when all the changes happened about 2 years ago I went full time in the Marble department...but now...I am doing both! I LOVE it! I like being busy and really having to think. I do have to think with the marble part, but the HR side involves employees and payroll, so it is carefully done!
I just finished my first 2 college classes this week! YAY!!! It is very exciting and I am looking forward to more...I also changed my major...I am going to and accounting degree! I love numbers and that is what accounting is!
Some highlights since the last time I blogged:
moved out
I keep everything sooo neat
gotten sooo much closer with my amazing family
really bonded with my sissy
new job stuff
adam and bryant came over...watched ncis...had alot of fun
i get to walk 3 flights of stairs and i love it
my quiet time is AMAZING!
finished 2 classes...and the next 2 start in a week

YaY! Now, im heading to NRCA for a Mac Powell after party...and I have Monday off for the NC State FAIR...a whole lotta happy!!!!
I'll put some pics up soon!!!!

T minus 2 days

As of this coming Friday at 9AM I will be an apartment renter! Yay! Have I started packing my stuff yet? NO! Why? Because I have been busy studying or watching Big Brother. No excuses now tho, mom and dad are out of town so I NEED to get everything together...not that I have a lot to get together, but it needs to happen and within today and tomorrow.
Jordan won BIG BROTHER! Yay!
Things are about to get crazy busy here at the world of Majestic. Our HR director is leaving and guess who is getting all her HRness?!? ME!!! Along with my wholesale duties, I will not become Miss Payroll! I think the first few weeks will be crazy getting adjusted and all, but I like to get my system together and make it work. This is a good change!
I think i'm into change right now...

Apartment shopping

I went apartment shopping today! So much fun...and so tiring! My plan was to get a table and chairs, a couch, and a bed. I got them all and another chair for the living room! Mission accomplished! Mom and I went looking after church...I was ready to make decisions and buy, but she didn't want to deal with sales people...so I called Amber, the ultimate wheeler and dealer, and she met us at world market. Amber helped us decide on the perfect table and chairs and then we were off to get the bed...check, and then I needed a couch...I had picked one out earlier, but it was too fluffy...so we went to one last store just to check it out....SHAZAAM...there, in the back of the store was the perfect couch and CHAIR!!! After we sat and snuggled for a while, my mind was made up!
I am sooo excited for this coming weekend when I will move into my apartment and get everything set up and then add the colorful details! I will add pics soon!!!

football and food= amazing

Yesterday I got up and headed out to the soccer field to coach my 1st/2nd grade girls! In our practices I have really focused on them keeping possession of the ball and working on their movies...you could see that yesterday. Not much passing, but when my girls get the ball they dribble straight to the other goal. Amazing! I also see a lot of the moves we have gone over! It is so much fun to watch...and when I see them do it, I yell out loud because I get soooo excited. We won 5-1...should have been 5-0, but one of my girls accidentally kicked the ball in our goal...oh well...we won. Hah! I am pretty competitive...even with 6-7 yr olds!
When I got home I got ready and headed over to Amber's for football and grilling out! For lunch we had the thickest and juciest hamburgers and Nathan made shrimp and pineapple skewers....AMAZING! After filling our bellies we just laid around and played with Bales...took a nap...I beat Nathan up...and then Amber got back on the grill and made WINGS! and we also had the yummiest, and crunchiest brussell sprouts! MMMMM....After filling my tummy with delish food...I finished it off with a cup of wild mountain blueberry coffee!! PERFECT!
I had such a fun day yesterday!
Today I am going to get a washer and dryer for the apartment!!! And, I also have a few other places I will be heading as well!!! I am getting sooooooo excited!!!

frienship

It has been said "Friendship is like a bank account, you can't continue to draw on it without making deposits." We see in I Samuel 20 the beauty of the wonderful example of friendship that David and Jonathan had. Verse 17 says that Jonathan loved David as his own soul. Do you have a friend like that? To have a friend you must be a friend. Make a deposit in the friendship you enjoy- Doc

I read this on FB the other day and LOVED it! Thanks Doc!

signed

This afternoon I signed the lease on my apartment! Yay! I am so excited! This is a new adventure for me and I am ohhh so excited! I move in next Friday so I have this week to get things together and figure things out! Yay! After Amber and I left the complex, we went to different store to get ideas on how to decorate! I remembered that I LOVED the color schemes in a scarf I bought her when I was in Florence...so I think we might go with that! Then we headed to Misu for SUSHI!!!! YUM!!!! We ate ALOT of sushi!! It was sooooo yummy!
Thanks Amber for an awesome afternoon! Love you sissy!

Sick-o

I am surprising myself my blogging 2 days in a row! Yippee!!!
I have a confession...I just had some Ben & Jerry's Cake Batter icecream for lunch...ugh...I feel miserable! BIG MISTAKE! Hah!
So, today, Amber and I are going to check out apartments! She is more excited than a kid on Christmas. I have never heard her repeat the sames things over and over as much as I have the past 2 days! Her excitement is catchy!!! I am very excited too! We will have fun...no, we will have a BLAST. And then, SUSHI! If it's open.
So...my top 3 reasons for moving out...Starbucks(right around the corner), Sushi(beside Starbucks), and girl talk when Amber comes over! Yay! Haha!!
Just a few more hours till my weekend officially begins! Holla! Looking forward to not doing a whole lot! I coach at 9 tomorrow, but other than that...NUFFIN!
Okay...back to biz...

so much going on...

My sister amazingly and finally updated her blog from June and I realized that I have taken forever to update, and don't want to follow in her foot steps. Hah! Love you Ber.
I am getting back into the swing of school. I am currently in week 3 of my online classes. Things are going pretty well. I'm not going to say wonderful because I'm not doing as wonderful as I thought. Not doing bad, just wanna do better. I have heard a quote from 3 different people..."It's not how you start, it's how you finish". I like that. I agree with it. Rocky start...smooth finish. I can handle that.
My thoughts upon waking this morning...I think I'm ready to move out. So, as soon as I got to work I phoned my sister and let her in on my new idea. Of corse, she LOVED it. I could take her happiness in 2 directions...1)she is happy for me and excited to help me move, or 2)she wants me out of mom and dads so she doesn't have to see me every time she comes over. I will think she is more of #1...Daniel would go with #2...although, the place I am looking is VERY close to him...:)
Other things...I joined C3 church! Yay! Love it! Abosolutely LOVE it!
Work is work and I am currently working... :)
Need a definition of an extremely long run on sentence??? Just ask Natalie...she good.

Imma try this out...

I realize that blogging would be a fun new adventure. Why not show the world...or the possible handful...more about Ashy? If I was to describe myself or my life it would come in one word...interesting. No matter what I do, or don't do, it is always interesting. From sitting in a booth at Panera, to sitting on the couch at home, I always end up with some fun and interesting story. So, now that I have taken this plunge into creating a blogspot, I will now share those funny moments in life that make life interesting.

After graduation in 2005, I took a break from school...that lasted almost 5 years. As of this week, I am now a full time student! Not only am I student, I am still working full time. Oh the wonderfulinternet which enables me to do this. I'm not going to say it's easy, and I'm not going to say it's hard because truth be told, I have no clue just yet. Class officially starts next Monday, but I am able to get a head start now. I am taking Philosophy and Psychology. I have already read the first couple chapters for psychology, and I know I am going to enjoy that class! This is going to be a fun new adventure for Ashy!
I don't really know why, but every afternoon when I get home from work, I hop on the couch, grab the remote, and turn the television on. I always turn to channel 242...USA. I have an obsession with NCIS. They play back to back to back episodes. No, I don't watch them all...well, I do sometimes, but man, they are good. Why am I telling you this? Well, I'm watching it right now.
Okay, I have rambled enough for my first post. Read back for more of my interesting life. :)
